Sara’s Club was founded July 4th, 1995, when our first golden retriever was born. We named her Lady Sara, Sara for short. We searched for the most perfect golden we could find with the hopes of some day having the privilege of breeding her. Her certifications all came back good, and in September 1997 she had her first litter. Thus Sara’s Club now had 10 members, including Sara.

The nine puppies grew up and went to live in wonderful new homes (see Happy Homes). Two of Sara’s puppies decided to stay and live with us, Maggie and Clarabelle. Maggie went on to become a wonderful Therapy Dog visiting a local nursing home. Unfortunately we lost Maggie to an unusual spinal disease just before her 7th birthday. Clarabelle had her own first litter on Christmas Eve, 2001. She had 10 beautiful babies, and they too went on to live in wonderful new homes. Sadly, Clarabelle left us to go play with Maggie at the Rainbow Bridge just before Christmas 2007.

One of Clarabelle’s puppies also decided to stay and live with us. This puppy Ms. Molly grew up and had her own litter of 9 pups in August 2004. We kept one of her pups and named her Bailey. Bailey had a beautiful litter of 10 pups in May of 2007. Now the Club is at 39. Along the way we added a mix breed Weenie. She proved to be a wonderful aunt, and assisted raising Bailey puppies. Check out pictures of all of our four legged kids at Golden Girls.

Our goal is to breed the best golden retrievers that we possibly can. All of our Goldens have either a Good or Excellent Hip certification ratings, current eye & elbow clearances. All of our puppies are raised indoors, in the middle of our living quarters, and given constant attention. We have open puppy visits every Saturday for perspective owners and our close friends. See Saturday Visits for pictures from this event filled day. We feel that these Saturday visits give the puppies a great dose of socializing with people of all kinds, and give kids and adults a good dose of puppy kisses.

Our next litter is due May 2008. Please see our litter’s page for information about this upcoming litter.

Thanks for visiting us. Feel free to email us at dschumacher@new.rr.com or phone us (920-434-4574) with any questions.
